About Us

Our mission is connecting students and families with
arts training from the Black perspective.

Bringing Balance To Arts Education

At BlackArtsEducation.com we believe that whether you're black, white or other,  it is important for all students of the arts to be exposed to arts training from the Black perspective. An arts education lacking in attention to historic and ongoing contributions of black people in the arts is an incomplete arts education.

With this in mind we have created our ever growing Global Directory of Black Arts Education to make it easy for you to find  programs in dance, music, photography, acting (on camera and on stage), modeling and visual arts.

Now more than ever it is especially important for students of color to be nurtured in environments where they are truly seen and heard, where their humanity is valued, and it is clear that their lives matter. Parents of black and brown children are looking for services that fulfill these needs, and the Black Arts Education Directory is their go-to resource for finding black teachers of music, dance, photography, acting, modeling, and more.

*If you're a black arts education teacher or coach and would like to have your business listed in our directory please contact us at blackartseducationlist@gmail.com

Dana Rice, Actress Jordan Rice, and

Tre' Rice

Meet The Founder

Dana Rice is an arts educator with decades of experience, but most importantly she is a mom. Her son is a recording artist and jazz pianist. Her daughter is a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar In The Arts Semifinalist and actress known for her role as Jackie Carson in the Apple TV+ series, SWAGGER and her role in Ava DuVernay's SELMA in the Four Little Girls scene.

Having raised two professional artists who are now young adults, Dana knows how challenging it can be to find the right teachers to motivate and inspire your child.
It can be even more challenging to find training that celebrates and authentically highlights black culture.
For these reasons, now Dana is using her skill for identifying outstanding arts programs, instructors, and products to provide parents and adult learners the ultimate resource for finding the best in arts education provided by people of color. It's all here at www.BlackArtsEducation.com
